Ramadhan ....

Subhanallah, alhamdulillah. Pantas masa berlalu, Allahuakbar!

Tatkala umat Islam bersolat tarawih malam pertama, seorang sahabatku kehilangan abahnya. Baru sahaja kami berbicara tentang keuzuran abahnya ketika kunjunganku ke Kuala Lumpur seminggu sebelum itu. Sudah berbelas tahun abahnya terlantar sakit. Sejak kami bersekolah menengah lagi.

Mental Breakdown

Today's newspaper - they mentioned something about doctors getting mental illness due to stress at work. Perhaps it is a response to multiple deaths involving house officers. So it is time for the ministry to re-look into the training system of house officers and the culture of doctors in general here. Poorly developed system.

I am glad that I survived my two year housemanship training. Not to be proud of it, but I strived hard in order to survive. Yet, not everyone can do it. Now that I am in the medical officers world, I still have not got the chance to train the house officers. I do not know if I ever can do it. It is definitely not an easy job.

Well, mental breakdown does not occur just to doctors. It occurs to everybody. This year, I have already encountered several cases of young men with a newly diagnosed psychosis/ schizophrenia/ depression/panic disorder. To my surprises, many of them (men and women) are teachers! I wonder how they did their teaching in class and how they put up with their students? Are they actually delivering the right knowledge? These are the people who are aware of their illnesses (or at least their family members are), so they came for help. How about those out there who aren't even aware that they are sick, or those who are helpless?

Being in this field, I start to think more. Some people believed in black magic. Hence, they go for bomoh or ustaz whenever they feel that they were disturbed. Of course this thing exists, but I can't ignore the fact that some of them are having an undiagnosed mental illness!

Yesterday was another eventful day. A female patient came to our clinic just to have someone to talk to about her life stressors. She cried her heart out. I pitied her so much but there was nothing much I could do. Aunty, I wished you all the best in your life, be patient with all your challenges, do not even attempt to end your life, it is not worth it. Just remember that every single deed you have done, there is reward for it.

People come to our clinic when they are sick, when they are stressed, when they couldn't sleep, when they got divorced, when they were lazy to go to work, when they overslept, when they needed money....all sorts of things. I myself started to feel the stress being in this department. I just put up with it because there is  no on calls..so no matter how difficult the problems I face during work, I can let it go at night and not having have to stay in the hospital doing the calls.

I should be studying about psychiatric illnesses again now.

Sebelum....

Welcome June

Welcome, June.
Are we increasing our good deeds or increasing our sins?

A few upsets recently, yet, never allow ourselves to give up. I still remember clearly, Cikgu Saadah, my add math teacher once said, even if you only left with one day, there is still time to prepare for the exams. Never underestimate the power of one day.

Malaysia Thomas Cup team didn't manage to bring back the cup again. Many said that it was suppose to be the best time for us to win it. I did not think so. Our team was not fully prepared. Only LCW was fully prepared. Like Tuan Guru Haji Hadi always said, " Kemenangan hanya akan datang apabila kita telah bersedia untuk mengisi kemenangan." Of course he referred it to our Islamic victory in our country, but it also applies to Thomas CUp. Yet, our team had tried their best.

Yesterday, BN won in Teluk Intan Election by small majority. Only 66.67% people voted, compared to 80% in the general election. I kind of agree that Dyana Sofia isn't the right candidate against Mah in Teluk Intan. She is still very new and young. She still need to develop her communication and politician skills. Her defeat by small majority is expected though I did wish that she would win. DAP listed three factors of their loss:
1) Poor turnout of people. Probably the rest of Teluk Intanians are working somewhere else and did not come back. These might be the people who would choose new era of politics and development i.e. Dyana.

2) Political threats. Whoah, this time it was too obvious who the gangsters were. Not to mention which party, but their attitude is too much, totally lost my respect. Plus, there were also the red shirt gangs (like Thailand pulak) who fired up the racism sentiments. Clearly no more one Malaysia.

3) Dyana Sofia is still new. Only two weeks to know her. Her speech wasn't impressed too. Need more time to polish. Still young, very good future ahead. Perhaps in PAS one day?

Last night, Kelantan lost to Felda United in the FA Cup semi final. Another upset. They should have not let go 3 goals during the match in Kelantan before. So the final wouldn't be so interesting anymore. I wonder since when my support is with the Kelantan team. It used to be with Selangor before, and for a short while with Penang. :)

P/s sometimes I wonder why some people share their life updates too easily.
" anak saya sakit etc...minta doakan..."
" ibu mertua saya masuk wad, doakan..."
" saya ada interview hari ni, doakan..."

Really, I wonder. Do these people really want to be prayed for, or they just want to show off and gain sympathy?

Anaknya lima. Semua tinggal berasingan dan jarang sekali mengambil berat. Seorang ayah atau ibu mampu membesarkan sepuluh orang anak menjadi manusia berguna. Sepuluh orang anak belum tentu lagi berguna untuk menjaga seorang ibu atau seorang ayah.

Gerun melihat kes-kes perceraian di media sosial. Itu yang melibatkan selebriti terkenal. Yang orang biasa, yang tak keluar berita, entah berapa ratus kes lagi. Mudah betul kahwin cerai. Baru bercerai, dah ada teman baru, lepas tu cepat pula kahwin lagi. Lepas tu tak sampai setahun, bercerai pula. Salahkan jodoh.

Hancur.
Biar lambat asal selamat. Banyak lagi cinta yang boleh dikejar. Cinta Ilahi pun merangkak lagi.

Saya kepunyaan mak dan ayah saya!
