Aimi's wedding reception brought us here. Mak, ayah and I. Mak managed to get her leave. So we departed from home at 11.30am on Saturday. After driving for two hours, we stopped by Hentian Sungai Perak for a break and washroom. Kak Riza called. We were supposed to meet at the wedding but unfortunately she and ustaz couldn't make it on time. Traffic congestion, as they mentioned. We arrived at Persiaran Meru Point at 2.10 pm, seeing the bride and bridegroom having their lunch. Dressed in blue/turqoise, Aimi and her husband looked gorgeous. Happy for her. When Kak Long has been taken, hopefully kak ngah will be taken soon too. Biiznillah.
Met a few juniors from UCC and a long lost friend, Nida. Felt sooo relieved to be able to chat with her. We found many similarities, we shared common hopes and feelings. We left after 4 pm, initially we wanted to go to Mak Bee's house in Manjung but she was uncontactable, so we went straight to our hotel, Paragon City Hotel.
It is a three star hotel, modest and simple. We got a super deluxe room i.e. Family room with one double and one single bed at cheap price. The room was spacious enough, with small tv near my bed. However, the air conditioner was not optimally functioning. It took a while to cool...but not cool enough. The bathroom was also nice. After Maghrib prayer, we left to town to look for dinner and ended up at Restoran Sabar Menanti, near Ipoh Stadium.
As its name, we had to be very patient with the service in the restaurant. The waiter was not friendly and we clearly ordered kuey teow goreng tanpa ayam for ayah but the waiter did not emphasize on our request. So the order had to be re cook. And he did not even apologize. Sabar menanti. Mak's mee kari was kow enough but also salty. My mee bandung was not thick enough and I could not really taste the bandung. We also ordered nasi goreng ikan masin without ayam but they served the ayam too. And the soup was super salty! My rating: 2.5/5. Will I come again? No, unless there is no other choice.
We returned to the hotel at 10pm and there was an Indian wedding going on till midnight. The wedding hall was also at first floor, near our room 104, so we could hear the noises intermittently.
Sunday morning...me and ayah bought breakfast from medan selera stadium, which was just two minutes from the hotel. We checked out at 10.30 am and left to Teluk Intan. It took us 1.5 hours to reach Menara Condong Teluk Intan. Hmmm...it is slanted slightly. Then, we headed back towards the north. We had our lunch at R&R RTC Perak. Huge place, with food court and Mydin! After prayers, we headed back to the highway.
Our next stop : R&R Bukit Gantang, where mak bought some fruits. Five minutes after we left, there was heavy rain..we drove slowly passed Taiping when the rain stopped. Finally arrived home at 6pm, alhamdulillah. With body aches, I am happy with the trip. It is nice to bring mak and ayah away from all the tense and heat at home.
