Different Ramadhan

There have been many differences about my Ramadhan this year. I no longer have to do calls at night. Work ends at five and I can have my iftar everywhere I like. So far it has been either my parents' house or my rented apartment. To be honest, I dislike having iftar outside home except if the place has prayer events scheduled. Hotels or restaurants? No, thank you.

I was supposed to be helping in an iftar event last Saturday, but due to mak's health, I decided to back out. I was thankful that I made the right decision. That night, I had terrible gastroenteritis symptoms, with vomiting and a few episodes of diarrhoea. Well done all my friends who made that night a success. Anyway, I still had the chance to watch the tazkirah online via Youtube.

There were so many good memories about my past fasting experience in Ireland. The first two years there were the best. Fasting from only 7am to 4.30pm, in a cold winter. Then, it started to get longer, but not as long as now. Fasting in summer can be up to 18-19 hours. Due to the Irish weather, thirst was never a problem, but hunger was. My stomach always produced this weird and loud sound, especially around 11am to 12 noon. Tutorial time! Not only me, but also most of my friends! We usually made different other tactics to cover it up. Coughing, turning book pages loudly, talking, etc. Funny when think about it again.
