The devastating and shocking news came early morning. A friend of mine is currently in a battle between life and death. She delivered her second child at KBMC and later on developed massive post partum haemorrhage. Six litres of blood loss...Allahu akbar! She collapsed and had to be resuscitated for 40 minutes with 5 defibrillation...able to be revived but with DIVC and multiorgan failure..a uterine repair was done in HUSM and now she is in critical state in ICU. Her newly born baby is healthy and fine.
Allah the Almighty..such a sad news..from a healthy, beautiful pregnant lady, now she is at the verge of going... She was my classmate in MRSM and UCC..we were not that close but we were always nice to each other. It is even more heartbreaking when she actually wrote on her FB wall last Friday about her mixed feelings of getting to the end of her pregnancy..and that she wondered if she ever get the chance again in the future...Maybe Allah had already sent her the sign..
Being intubated, ventilated and supported with 3 inotropes, her prognosis is very poor. She already had multiorgan failure and her heart stopped beating for about 40 minutes...too long for her brain not to suffer..Being a medical practitioner, I know that her condition is not good at all..but miracles do happen, because only Him will decide what will happen ahead...
Be strong Pja and family...she has another little boy, and her husband is my senior in MRSM too..
Last week I received another news about my MA in ED HPP who just had a baby. His wife developed sudden breathlessness post partum and collapsed..diagnosed with pulmonary embolism.Intubated for some time and proceeded with tracheostomy. Now in vegetative state.Allahu...
Pregnancy is such a high risk condition. A total physiological change in the body could convert a healthy woman into a morbid woman and even death. I still remember during my second last oncall in labour room about two years ago, we had a patient pregnant at 34 weeks who developed a sudden breathlessness. Her oxygen saturation could never been above 90% even with high flow mask. She developed some kind of heart condition. She had no family history of heart disease and was previously very well. We transferred her from labour room to CCU. She delivered via LSCS but after a few days she was gone...left her little baby and her husband.
That is why woman who passed away at labour is considered syahid...
So everyone out there should be grateful to our mothers..how they went through 9 months of pregnancy and later on fought with the labour pain and many other complications.
May Allah ease Pja and her family.
Semoga Pja cepat sembuh. Macam mana condition dia sekarang?
