Pasca Gigitan Charlie

Ya, aku masih datang kerja, malah on call sebab masa tu masih cuti CNY, jadi tiada siapa boleh mengganti.

Hungry

I am hungry yet I have nothing to eat, I have to go out and look for food but I do not want to...I have stove but without the gas...so I don't have anything to cook also..pity me..lonely and alone in this house..

Bad call last night, only slept for half hour. My call used to be tiring because I slept too much but now it has become tiring because I couldn't sleep well...

I still disagree with parents who waited till 3 am to bring their child who already been sick for the past three days..these parents don't have courtesy for others. I even dislike parents who kept quiet and became numb when ED people ask to admit their child, but once arrived in the ward, they started asking about not getting admitted. Do you think we are so free to bother your wish? You come to ED at odd hours, then you didn't voice out that you refuse admission, suddenly in the ward you want to cancel admission? No way!

Last night I had to transfer out a 30 day old baby as he was very tachypnoeic with fluctuating SPO2. The receiving MO was skeptical to me as her nurse told that his SPO2 on admission was 98% under room air. When we went and check...nah..88%!!! She quickly ordered for face mask oxygen and thanked me. Come on, we don't simply send stable patient to you okay!

Okay, I complaint too much. Be thankful with what I have and what other people don't.

Review on Ipad mini

I have the thoughts of buying an Ipad before. I love the quality and luxurious image of an Apple brand. Yet I ended up buying a samsung tablet because 1) the online strore that I visited did not have an Ipad. 2) People said Ipad is less friendly in terms of subject exchange. Hmm...my Samsung tablet only lasts 6 months...in desperate, I started eyeing on Apple product again, and now I am using an Ipad mini to type this entry.

Samsung tablet - smaller size, heavier, white and black available, more difficult typing keyboard, easy to get warm when use longer, very easy to transfer files, can capture screen, can download many applications from Play Store, price is cheaper.

Ipad mini - size is slightly bigger but still between palm grab, much lighter, white and black available, very easy to type keyboard, does not get warm on longer use, difficult to transfer files, cannot capture screen, limited applications from App store, price is higher.

Still trying to get use to it. This time I promise to use it wisely. Barakah is important in keeping it alive longer.

Bad call

Bad call yestarday...started off with a three year old boy who presented with status epilepticus, TRO meningitis. His seizure was never aborted despite iv valium and phenytoin load. Perhaps the dose we gave was not enough...he ended up being intubated by anaesthetist for airway and cerebral protection. I really hope that he won't have complications like hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy and end up bedridden...

We transferred him to PICU HPP, luckily they manage to slot one bed for us, if not then we have to call Alor Setar. The journey was eventful...patient desaturated twice due to a lot of oropharyngeal secretions...after suction he improved. He also woke up a few times that we had to purge his midazolam infusion. The ambulance driver recklessly drove the vehicle...only God knows how I felt. I ended up taking IM Stemetil once I got back to hospital.

My prayer for the boy for his cure and health.
